Boopsie for Libraries is releasing an improved Enhanced Subject Search; another step to improve the searching capabilities on your custom-branded Library App.
Users of library apps made by Boopsie were previously able to perform subject searches, but the results were not well refined. For instance, if you performed a subject search on “Vampires”, you would be initially shown the results that had “Vampires” as the only subject. Then, as you began to type in the search box, you would see more results; the search would be performed across all items that had the subject of “Vampires”, even if there were multiple subjects listed.
Now with Enhanced Subject Search enabled, users can begin typing the subject they want to search for in Their Library App’s catalog search. By leveraging our patented Smart Prefix(™) search technology, users who type in “vam” will now be shown results with subjects “Vampires” and “Vampire films”, as well as other items that have to deal with vampires.
After the subject is chosen, users are shown a listing of all items that have that particular subject.
At this point, users can either choose to browse, page by page, or to begin typing again to narrow down the results even further. Anne Rice fans can simply type in “an ri” using Smart Prefix(™) search to narrow down the results to show her vampire works.
“Our Enhanced Subject Search leverages our Smart Prefix(™) search technology, so users don’t have to browse through page-by-page to find an item; instead we narrow down their results real-time as they type,” says Boopsie CEO, Tony Medrano. “Smart Prefix™ search alone drives 2.4x more searches as compared to keyword search. We are excited to see how this new improvement in our subject search will drive more searches by making it easier for users to type less on the mobile devices.”
