App Usage Reports Now Available for All Library Apps
Grow App Usage and Circulation!Earlier this month, we rolled out our first version of Boopsie App Usage Reports: now you can login and view Your Library’s App Usage metrics any time you want. App Usage Reports allow you to view the total number of unique users of your app for a given time frame, as well as break users down by device and operating system. If you are having any issues logging in or have questions on how to pull reports for Your Library’s App, email us and we’ll help walk you through how App Usage Reports work. Please note, we’ve just rolled out a new design for our website this week and now you can login from virtually any page, up at the top right corner.
App Usage reports are the first stage in a broader Boopsie initiative of providing you with a complete App Control Panel for Your App’s Library. Over the coming weeks and months we will continue to update and improve reporting functionality as well as add new functionality within the App Control Panel, ultimately giving you more control and flexibility with Your Library’s App. Stay tuned as we continue to improve and expand. If you have any suggestions for improvements or additions to the App Control Panel, feel free to contact us.

Apps with Boopsie’s Smart Prefix™ Search Show 2.4x Increase in Searches
Smart Prefix search makes it Easy!Smart Prefix™ search is a proprietary way for library patrons to search your catalog within Your Library’s App. It enables your patrons to enter only two or three letters of each word for the app to return relevant catalog search results. It also updates results with each keystroke, so patrons aren’t required to type a full word and hit enter to search your catalog.
We looked at the average number of searches per unique user across almost 50,000 unique users, and found that when patrons were searching with Smart Prefix search enabled, they performed on average 2.4x more searches than patrons using apps without Smart Prefix search. 3.5x Increase in Library App Usage When Website Uses Mobile Re-Direct
Mobile Redirect Screenshot One of the best and easiest ways to help increase your Library’s App usage and downloads is to set up a “re-direct” on your website which will detect when a user is on a mobile device and prompt them to select between your Mobile App and your regular desktop website. Doing so ensures a better experience tailored to the patron’s device and promotes your app to your patrons at the best possible time, when they’re on their mobile device.
One-click-downloads will dramatically increase patron exposure and usage (libraries see up to 3.5 times increase after installing a mobile re-direct) of your Library’s App, especially since they are already on their smartphone or tablet. Visit the Mobile Re-Direct Instructions on our website to download instructions and template code to implement Mobile Re-Direct on Your Library’s Website.
