What is Tutor.com?
Tutor.com offers year-round tutoring services and 24/7 access to valuable skill center resources to their service users. They have specific programs designed for families, military members, K-12 schools, libraries and higher education.
A library subscription provides your patrons access to Tutor.com’s Student Center, College Center and Career Center.
• Student Center is geared towards K-12 students, and provides tutoring in Math, Science, English, Social Studies and ProofPoint™, a Real-Time Writing Center.
• College Center provides GED Prep, Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Resume Help and ProofPoint.
• Career Center provides career help, Citizenship test tutoring, ProofPoint and GED Prep/Back to School assistance.
How We Integrate
Apple device users (iPhones, iPads and iPods) can easily launch the Tutor.com Integration right from Your Library App. If your patron doesn’t have the app already installed, Your Library App will automatically take them to the App Store to download it.
If you or your patrons don’t have an Apple device, never fear! They can still access Tutor.com’s services via the HTML5 classroom. Android fans can look forward to the release of Tutor.com’s Android App in 2014.
Benefits of Integration
With an app-to-app deep linking integration, your patrons can easily launch the Tutor.com App straight from Your Library App. No more searching through pages of apps just to access the app—if you can access Your Library app, you can access whatever apps that app links to.

After you open Your Library App, select the Tutor.com integration. If you can’t find it in the Main Menu, try looking under the Resources tab. In the case of the San José Public Library, the Tutor.com Integration launches right from their Main Menu (“Live Homework Help”).
After you select the Tutor.com Integration, Your Library App will automatically launch the app (if it is already installed). If the Tutor.com app hasn’t been installed on your smartphone or tablet, Your Library App will direct you to the app store where you can download the app (if you have an Apple Device).
After you’ve logged into your Tutor.com Account, you can select one of the four main menu options:
|Live One-to-One Help||Access a live Tutor, during operating hours. If you live in the Pacific Time Zone, the hours are everyday from 2:00pm to 12:00am.|
|Previous Sessions||Want to refresh on what you learned last week from your tutor? This is where you’ll want to go for information from your previous sessions.|
|Tutor.com Locker||You can upload, organize and access your Tutor.com files here.|
|Skills Center™ Library||Access tutorials and other resources here.|
You can access Live One-to-One Help, right from your smartphone, simply ask your question, share a file (if you need to), select your subject and then hit connect!
Inside the Skills Center™ Library you can access study guides, prep for standardized tests and prepare for your next career.
For those of you who don’t have Apple devices, you can still access Tutor.com’s services on the go.
After you log in, you’re shown the welcome page. Just like with the App on Apple devices, you can select what center you want to access: Student, Test Prep, College, Adult Education or Career.
You can browse through various help resources in the “Study Resources” section; just select a Topic, Subject and Subtopic.
Do you need help with your resume or cover letter? You can upload your document to Tutor.com and a tutor will review your document and provide you with feedback within 24 hours.
How Can You Get the Tutor.com Integration on Your Library App?
If you want to add the Tutor.com Integration to Your Library App, simply email your Account Manager and they can assist you with adding the integration. Please note that there may be an additional cost to add the integration.
